چکیده
Experimental study included 15 lambs which were divided into 3 groups; each group consisted of 5 lambs. A commercial CaseBac vaccine was used to vaccinate group II, while others groups served as positive and negative controls. All lambs in group II were received two doses of vaccine at four weeks interval. The lambs in groups II and III were challenged S/C with 9 x 10 CFU virulent isolated strain of C. pseudotuberculosis. Humoral and cell mediated immune response were detected during the period of experiments, the temperature, pulse rate and respiration rate were determined weekly. The protection in vaccinated group was 100% against challenge dose, while in the group III one lamb died on fifth day post challenge. Pus was appeared in the rest of lambs at the site of injection.

Serological Detection of Caseous Lymphadenitis in Sheep and Goats Using a Commercial ELISA in Grenada, West Indies
Caseous lymphadenitis (CLA) in small ruminants has been diagnosed by culture several times in the state of Grenada. In order to understand the prevalence of CLA, serum samples from 541 sheep and 338 goats from Grenada and Carriacou islands were tested for antibodies against the phospholipase antigen of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, the causative agent of caseous lymphadenitis (CLA) using ...
متن کاملTargeting improves the efficacy of a DNA vaccine against Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis in sheep.
A large-scale DNA vaccination trial was performed with sheep to investigate whether an antigen targeted by CTLA-4 enhanced and accelerated the humoral immune response. Vaccination with genetically detoxified phospholipase D (DeltaPLD) has been shown to be effective, at least partially, against Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, the causal agent of caseous lymphadenitis in sheep. CTLA-4 binds t...

A case of internal form of caseous lymphadenitis was reported in a sheep. Grossly, the bronchial lymph node was enlarged with greenish – yellow pus. Microscopic examination of lymph node revealed central caseous necrosis surrounded by pyogenic membrane and fibrous tissue proliferation. Based on the gross, cytological and histopathological features the case was diagnosed as caseous lymphadenitis.
متن کاملExperimental vaccination of sheep against hydatid cyst using EG95 recombinant vaccine
Vaccination of livestock with effective vaccine could be one of the control methods for hydatid cyst. In this study a new recombinant vaccine (Eg95) from New Zealand was prepared and used. Thirty health sheep from the same race and identical age and sex were selected. There was no history of any past vaccination or disease in selected animals. Animals were randomly categorized to four groups. O...
متن کاملAssociation between haptoglobin and IgM levels and the clinical progression of caseous lymphadenitis in sheep
BACKGROUND Sheep caseous lymphadenitis (CLA), caused by Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis (Cp), is associated with direct economic losses and presents significant zoonotic potential. Despite the importance of the disease, a satisfactory vaccine model has not been developed. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the association between haptoglobin (Hp) and IgM levels and the clinical progressio...
